Introducing the Debut Single: ‘Sometimes’
Singer/songwriter/piano player AC Scott released the first single from her upcoming debut album on 5th September 2025. A successful author, broadcaster and DJ for many years, from day one it has been about the music.
Already attracting critical acclaim – “Sometimes” is the first song Alison penned, the catalyst which has kicked off a remarkable songwriting journey.
“Sometimes” is a dreamy, soulful, hard-hitting anthem about letting go, moving forward, and finding the joy of life again.
The vocals and melodies resemble classic American singer-songwriters such as Carole King, the lyrics from the heart of Alison’s experience of life and all its ups and downs.
Produced by Andrew Rollins, the single was released by Right Track
Records/Universal Music Operation on Friday 5th September.
AC Scott aka Alison Craig is a well-known voice across Scotland and a familiar face on UK TV.
Sometimes is the first song I wrote. The first lines came from nowhere, and when I sat at the piano it kind of wrote itself within an hour. I never sang until I wrote this song. I didn’t know I could. I didn’t play piano for 2 years after my dad died so the deep connection between music and emotion I knew was an intrinsic part of me. Then when I was diagnosed with a life changing lung condition I buttoned up again until writing Sometimes literally unblocked something that has resulted in an avalanche of songs appearing unbidden. It has changed my life, taken me on an incredible journey sailing to the US as I can’t fly, to work with some of the most respected musicians and producers in the world. It is quite overwhelming and yet a relief to realise this inner voice wasn’t madness, it was music.

Review of the New Single: ‘Never Too Late’ from Original Rock.net
With her new single ‘Never Too Late‘, AC Scott introduces herself as an artist that’s walked through fire and decided, very deliberately, to keep walking.
Built around a piano foundation, the single blooms slowly, almost cautiously. The opening moments feel fragile, like someone testing their voice in a quiet room, before the track opens its chest, the guitars begin to swell and the drums land with that unmistakable power-ballad certainty.
Scott’s voice is the real centre of gravity here. There’s no showboating, no melisma for the sake of it. Instead, she sings like someone telling you the truth at 3am. You believe her because she sounds like she’s earned every word. Never Too Late isn’t a “story song” in the usual sense, but it’s emotional architecture. Building from grief into something stubbornly, almost rebelliously hopeful…

“Emerging with a track that balances vulnerability and gentle strength, AC Scott channels the introspective spirit of the colder seasons and the promise of renewal in her poignant debut single, ‘Sometimes’ – a haunting glimpse into her forthcoming album.
Remarkably, the song is the product of just two years since she first discovered a passion for composing. The late-blooming artist delivers a hypnotic ballad that evokes the emotional depth and timeless quality of legends like Carole King and Joni Mitchell, already earning her a shortlist nomination for UK Songwriter of the Year.”
